Los Angeles, California (July 2, 2025)- Alejo takes a fearless step forward in his artistic evolution with the release of “Gastar,” a striking collaboration with fellow urban Latin music innovator Lyanno. Together, the two artists bring their distinct voices and styles to a track that celebrates reggaeton’s roots while pushing the genre into sleek, modern territory.
Paying homage to the legendary Yaga & Mackie hit “Nos Vamos de Shopping,” “Gastar” is more than a tribute—it’s a creative reinvention. Originally penned by Opi The Hit Machine, who also lends his voice to the song’s nostalgic intro, the single serves as a bridge between generations. Alejo and Lyanno skillfully preserve the essence of the original while introducing a refined, melodic soundscape that reflects today’s evolving reggaeton aesthetic. Their smooth vocals, effortless chemistry, and minimalist approach give the track an introspective, narrative-driven feel that speaks to both long-time fans and new listeners.
The release is paired with a cinematic music video directed by PuffPuffPasa and shot in Puerto Rico. The visual storyline features Lyanno as a jeweler and Alejo on a quest to find the perfect gift for his love interest—an artistic representation of the song’s themes of desire, luxury, and emotional connection. With a blend of visual flair and emotional depth, the video enhances the single’s impact and further showcases the duo’s creative versatility.
“Gastar” stands out not only as a nod to reggaeton’s legacy but also as a glimpse into its future—infused with trap elements, smooth production, and a mature sensibility that elevates both artists’ catalogs. Released by JUNGL and distributed by ONErpm, the track solidifies Alejo and Lyanno’s roles as boundary-pushers in the Latin music scene.
Alejo’s star continues to rise rapidly, and he’s set to bring his music back to European audiences this summer with performances at major Spanish festivals. His upcoming appearances include Holika Festival in Calahorra, La Rioja (June 26), Reggaeton Beach Festival in Tenerife (June 28), Vivo Flow Fest in Jaén (July 4), and Reggaeton Beach Festival in Benidorm (July 5).
With “Gastar,” Alejo and Lyanno not only honor reggaeton’s past—they help define its future.
