In a year already marked by milestones, Adamusic has found himself at the center of pop’s evolving conversation. From landing on Apple Music’s Today’s Hits Mix in February to dropping his shimmering single In My Dreams in April, and even reimagining Britney Spears’ Stronger for the 25th anniversary of Oops!… I Did It Again, 2025 has positioned him as more than just a mashup mastermind — he’s emerging as one of pop’s most versatile new voices.
“It really felt like the biggest stepping stone I’ve had in a while,” he says of the Apple Music feature. “Getting placed on major streaming services always felt like a dream that might never happen. Being scouted by Apple to make a whole mix full of my mashups was the biggest honor. I’ve gained so much visibility from it, and honestly, it’s been the greatest gift.”
That recognition set the stage for In My Dreams, a pulsing electropop cut that captures both his evolution and his instincts as a performer. “It actually started as a much slower track,” he admits. “But while I was figuring out my artistry and the kind of music I wanted to make, I realized I wanted something more upbeat — something I could imagine playing myself in a club. It became this mix of big, bombastic melodies and dance-pop beats, which is exactly what brings me the most joy.”
The balance between honoring pop’s past and pushing it forward came into focus again when Adamusic was tapped to remix Britney Spears’ Stronger for a new generation. “It’s such an iconic piece of pop culture, and I grew up listening to it,” he says. “I’m about to turn 25, so I’m almost as old as the album — which makes it even more surreal. Being able to put a modern spin on a track I grew up with was a real honor.” With a grin, he adds, “If I had to guess, Work B*tch vs. Challengers probably got their attention. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was all the Britney mashups I’d posted.”
His biggest stage yet came in June, when he performed for over 30,000 people at World Pride Music in Washington, D.C. “Playing for that many people is truly an experience like no other,” he recalls. “Up until then, the biggest crowd I’d played for was maybe a thousand people — and suddenly jumping to 30,000 was overwhelming in the best way. I couldn’t even see where the crowd ended. To take mashups I’d been creating in my bedroom and share them with that many people — it was pure joy.”
Still, Adamusic isn’t interested in chasing trends just for the sake of it. “I like to bring something that feels comfortable, but then flip it on its head,” he explains. “If I can give someone an AHA moment while listening to a mix, then I’ve done my job. I never want to be too on-trend, but I also want to feel familiar enough that people can dive right in. Then I like to throw curveballs.”
At the core of it all is his desire to create experiences, not just songs. “My biggest goal is always to take listeners on a journey,” he says. “Whether it’s through a DJ set, my mashups, or an original song, I want to create highs and lows that make music feel like an experience. If I can take someone on a journey, I’ve done my job.”
