Australian DJ and producer Dom Dolla has cemented his status as a global dance music powerhouse, making history as the very first recipient of the new ARIA Global Impact Award, presented by Spotify. The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) announced the prestigious honor on November 17th, confirming that the Melbourne-raised artist will receive the award at the 2025 ARIA Awards. This new category is designed to spotlight Australian talent whose international achievements and cultural influence resonate far beyond their home soil.
A Year of International Milestones
Over the past twelve months, Dom Dolla has stacked up milestones that underscore his explosive success. His work on the global circuit includes an impressive 10-week residency at Hï Ibiza—billed as the world’s No. 1 club—and top line slots at major international festivals such as Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza Chicago, and Creamfields. Adding to his accolades, he earned his first Grammy nomination for Best Remixed Recording for his rework of Gorillaz’s track, “New Gold,” which featured Tame Impala and Bootie Brown.
Dom Dolla’s footprint is equally massive back home and in the crucial U.S. market. His 2024 national homecoming tour sold over 170,000 tickets, setting a record for the largest-ever run by an Australian electronic artist. Looking ahead, he is set to make another leap with his first Australian stadium date at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium on December 20th. On the charts, his recent collaboration with Kid Cudi, “Forever,” debuted in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, further solidifying his growing influence. According to ARIA, the star has now amassed over 1.5 billion global streams, showcasing his widespread appeal.
A Significant New Honor
The ARIA Global Impact Award is a significant addition, designed to sit alongside the ARIA Hall of Fame, and Dom Dolla is the perfect choice to launch it. His record-breaking achievements in touring and streaming, coupled with his role in pushing Australian dance music to new heights, make this recognition well-deserved. He received the honor during the 2025 ARIA Awards ceremony, which streamed live on November 19th at 5 p.m. AEDT via Paramount+.
