The announcement follows a significant period for the artist, including appearances at major festivals like Coachella and Cruel World, where he has expanded the language of post-punk in Spanish. His recent single, “Cómo Será Vivir en el Campo,” offers a glimpse into the album’s emotional depth, mixing post-punk urgency with hazy dream-pop textures as a meditation on escape and disconnection.
The new album promises to be a questioning of the noise of modern life, celebrating the delicate beauty found in slowing down. Produced alongside longtime collaborator Harto Rodríguez and mixed by Chris Coady (Beach House, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), the record channels a sound that stretches from post-punk urgency to cinematic introspection.

Crespo, who began the project during the 2020 lockdown, continues to articulate the disillusionment and resilience of a restless generation. With this reflective new work, Depresión Sonora invites the public to disconnect and find clarity away from digital fatigue.
