Change of Plans
The Latino heritage celebration Revolución Festival Tour has changed the date for its Los Angeles event to October 5. Tickets for the event, which will donate a portion of its proceeds to charity, feature a diverse panel of speakers as well as local music, entertainment, and activities for all ages.
Speakers and Performers
The touring program showcases a diverse panel of Latino speakers and musicians and also features local vendors for food and merchandise. Speakers will give talks on a variety of topics, from careers to encouraging girls’ participation in STEM, and the current panel includes Rafael Fernandez Jr., Angelica Salas, Carlos “Popeye” Carrasco, Johnny Murillo, Dr. Jose-Luis Ruiz, and Rachel Matos. Music will be presented by the band La Nueva Ola de Cumbia, and comedian Jose Maestas II will perform a set. Attendees will also have the chance to meet the event’s mascot, Chica.

Entertainment and Charity
Other activities will include dancing, a fashion show, a mariachi band performance, food from local vendors, a free Raising Canes community mercado, and more. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to immigrant human rights organization CHIRLA, the San Antonio Coalition for Veterans & Families (SACVF), the Andrés y María Cárdenas Family Foundation (AMCFF), and Human Rights First.
