Los Angeles, California (June 12, 2025)– After years of quiet anticipation, indie singer-songwriter maye is ready to unveil her most intimate and ambitious work to date: Música Para Abrir el Cielo, her debut album arriving June 27 on all digital platforms. Written and co-produced by the Venezuelan artist raised in Miami, the project blends dreamy indie-pop, Latin rhythms, and poetic vulnerability to mark a pivotal chapter in her artistic evolution.
Música Para Abrir el Cielo is a deeply personal and emotionally expansive album that explores themes of love, loss, identity, and healing through maye’s unmistakable touch—a seamless fusion of softness, strength, and introspection. Spanning 11 tracks that move from ethereal ballads to warm, immersive grooves, the album defies genre to craft an emotional landscape rich in self-discovery and creative freedom.
Created alongside longtime collaborators Mick Coogan and Scotty Dittrich, the project builds on years of sonic exploration and lyrical reflection. It also reunites maye with Pat Howard and Fernando Belisario, the team behind her fan-favorite track “Tú,” on two of the album’s standout songs. Previously released singles “Yo Me Consiento” and “Peter Pan” offered a glimpse into the record’s emotionally honest and boldly human approach.
The title Música Para Abrir el Cielo (“Music to Open the Sky”) was inspired by a chance encounter at a flea market, where a woman told maye that her purpose in life was “to open the sky for others.” That moment would become a guiding light for the album’s creative and spiritual direction.
With this debut, maye invites listeners into a world where vulnerability becomes power, and music acts as a portal to emotional clarity. It’s an album that not only defines her sound but also creates space for anyone ready to feel deeply and openly.
Música Para Abrir el Cielo is more than just a debut—it’s a message, a mood, and a moment. It’s an offering of healing through melody and meaning, and a reminder that music, at its best, can open the skies for those who dare to listen.
