Los Angeles, California (May 23, 2025)- Friday, May 23 marked the beginning of a long weekend in San Bernardino, California, and it couldn’t have kicked off in a better way than with an electrifying night of regional Mexican music at the Orange Show. A night filled with the distinct rhythms of techno banda, traditional banda sinaloense, and sirreño brought together fans of all ages for a celebration that was equal parts nostalgic and euphoric.
The event opened with the long-awaited return of Los Alegres de la Sierra, who had not performed in the United States for several years. Their presence on stage was met with roaring applause, and from the moment they played their first song, the connection with the audience was immediate. They performed beloved hits like “De Rodillas Te Pido,” “Y Si Volviera a Nacer,” and “Suerte He Tenido de Conocerte,” turning the venue into a chorus of voices as fans sang along passionately. There was dancing, cheering, and an unmistakable warmth in the air as the group reminded everyone why their music continues to hold a special place in people’s hearts.
Next came Banda Mach de Pepe Guardado, delivering a performance that was nothing short of explosive. Currently on their “Gira Renacer” tour, the group brought back the powerful techno banda sound that made them famous in the 90s. They ignited the stage with classic songs like “El Gato y el Ratón” and “La Culebra,” and the crowd responded with boundless energy. Fans not only sang every word but joined the band on stage to dance, creating moments of spontaneity that made the night feel personal and unforgettable. Banda Mach showed that time has only sharpened their edge, and their sound remains just as contagious and exhilarating as ever.
One of the highlights of the night was Banda Rancho Viejo de Benny Camacho, a group that is quickly becoming a fan favorite. Despite currently facing some unresolved legal matters, their performance was anything but distracted. In fact, it was one of the most dynamic sets of the night. With hits like “Con la Novedad,” “Qué Machín,” and “Cómo Me Gusta Este Rancho,” they delivered a show filled with emotion, rhythm, and an unmistakable connection to their audience. The energy in the venue surged every time they launched into a new track. It was impossible for anyone to remain seated—every song was an invitation to dance, and the crowd eagerly accepted. From heartfelt ballads to infectious cumbias, Banda Rancho Viejo proved they are not just rising stars—they’re already a force.
Closing the night was none other than Banda Maguey, affectionately known as “La Reina de Todas Las Bandas.” Hailing from Villa Corona, Jalisco, the group brought their signature sound to the stage and reminded everyone that the golden era of the quebradita is alive and well. Their set was a vibrant celebration of tradition and joy, with anthems like “Tú Eterno Enamorado,” “Tumbando Caña,” “Eva María,” and the crowd-favorite “El Teterete.” What made their performance even more memorable was the genuine interaction with their fans. They welcomed people onto the stage to dance alongside them, turning the performance into a communal celebration. Their humility and joy were palpable, and the love they received from the audience was well-earned.
The atmosphere throughout the night was one of unity, joy, and deep appreciation for the music that has defined countless memories. The Orange Show transformed into a dance floor, a concert hall, and a gathering space for a community that shares a deep bond through music. This wasn’t just a concert—it was a night of cultural pride, storytelling through song, and a reminder of the powerful emotions that live performances can stir.
Everyone in attendance left with sore feet, full hearts, and the lingering melodies of their favorite songs still echoing in their minds. It was a night that celebrated not just the artists on stage, but also the loyal fans who continue to support them through every note. A night to remember, and one that will surely be talked about until the next one comes around.
