Her Oct. 3 show, featuring a surprise duet with Dua Lipa, became the platform’s most-viewed livestream by a female artist. Now she has added one last Madrid date.
Shakira built a stadium for herself in Madrid. On Saturday, she let the rest of the world in.
Her Oct. 3 concert at Shakira Stadium, a temporary venue built inside the city’s Iberdrola Music complex for her residency, streamed live and free on Amazon Music, Prime Video and Twitch. It was her first full concert broadcast worldwide, and on Sunday Amazon Music announced that it had become the most-viewed livestream by a female artist in the platform’s history.

How many people actually watched? That’s the catch: Amazon hasn’t released a number. For now, the record is a headline rather than a statistic, set in a category Amazon defines and counts itself. The scale of the residency, though, is easy to measure. According to Pollstar, the purpose-built venue holds more than 50,000 people, and the grounds around it host exhibitions and workshops on Latin culture curated by Shakira herself.
Viewers who tuned in got a moment worth the click. Dua Lipa joined Shakira onstage for an acoustic version of “Antología,” from her 1995 album “Pies Descalzos.” Shakira told the crowd that singing a song so close to her heart with an artist so admired around the world was an honor.

The broadcast was the centerpiece of The Women Shaping Latin Music, this year’s edition of Amazon Music’s annual Music Connects Us campaign. For Amazon, it also worked as a demonstration of reach: one concert, three of its own platforms.
The Madrid run is part of the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, supporting her 2024 album of the same name. According to Consequence, these are her first concerts in Spain in eight years and her only European residency on the tour. The residency opened Sept. 18 and was due to end with a 12th show on Oct. 11. Now there’s a 13th: a “Grand Farewell with Friends” on Oct. 12, with Maluma, Beéle and Dani Martín among the guests, TicketNews reports.
Twelve nights apparently weren’t enough. Not for Shakira, and not for Madrid.
