Taylor Swift has added another record-breaking achievement to her career, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her latest single, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” from the upcoming Toy Story 5 soundtrack.
The track is Swift’s 15th chart-topper on the Hot 100, moving her into sole possession of third place among artists with the most No. 1 singles in the chart’s history. Only The Beatles and Mariah Carey now stand ahead of her on the all-time leaderboard.
A combination of strong streaming numbers, radio support and digital sales fueled the song’s opening-week performance. It also topped multiple Billboard charts, including Streaming Songs, Digital Song Sales and Hot Country Songs.
The debut adds another milestone to her already unparalleled chart résumé. “I Knew It, I Knew You” becomes Swift’s ninth Hot 100 No. 1 debut, setting a new record among female artists. The achievement also marks her 70th career top-10 hit, extending her status as one of the most successful chart performers of the modern era.
Beyond the individual records, the song carries broader significance for Disney and Pixar. The track becomes the first song from a Pixar film to reach No. 1 on the Hot 100 and only the third song from an animated Disney feature to top the chart. It follows previous animated-film successes such as “A Whole New World” from Aladdin and “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Encanto.
Swift co-wrote and co-produced the song alongside longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, continuing one of pop music’s most successful creative partnerships. The victory also boosts Antonoff’s growing list of chart-topping credits as both a songwriter and producer.
Inspired by Jessie, the beloved cowgirl character from the Toy Story franchise, the song blends country influences with Swift’s signature storytelling style. The superstar recently performed the track live during the film’s Los Angeles premiere, helping build anticipation ahead of the movie’s theatrical release.
