One of Australia’s biggest global success stories is officially claiming a spot in the red chair. Chart topping singer and songwriter Tones And I has been confirmed to make her coaching debut on the upcoming 2026 season of The Voice, anchoring a heavily revamped panel of mentors for the hit vocal competition.
The career move represents a full circle moment for the pop phenomenon. Having famously risen from busking on Australian streets to conquering international music charts, the artist admitted that joining the show fulfills something she once dreamed about while growing up. She expressed immense excitement about stepping into the iconic showbiz landscape, complete with her very own big red chair and buzzer.
Since exploding onto the world stage with her hit single Dance Monkey, the performer has cemented her status as one of the country’s most successful contemporary artists. The track broke streaming and chart records around the globe, helping propel her career to more than twelve billion streams worldwide alongside multiple ARIA Awards.
Her arrival signals a significant refresh for the television franchise, which is rolling out an entirely new coaching dynamic. While returning coach Ronan Keating will provide continuity from previous seasons, the addition of Tones And I alongside former Spice Girls star Melanie C, Grammy winning Richard Marx, and acclaimed Australian vocalist Kate Miller Heidke creates one of the most diverse mentor lineups in the program’s history. The new panel masterfully blends international pop credentials with local Australian music expertise.
The upcoming season of the vocal competition is an ITV Studios Australia production, scheduled to air on the Seven Network.
