Subscription prices are skyrocketing and people are complaining about prices. There appears to be no end to the raised monthly price and examples of these subscriptions such as that of YouTube is at a breaking point.
In addition to the price on one plan at YouTube is the raised prices for all subsciptions. YouTube Premium Individual plan is increasing from $13.99 to $15.99 per month while the Family plan is increasing from $22.99 to $26.99.
Although this difference appears to be small, the fees add up. Its the timing and psychological factors that play into how users look at their subscriptions.
However, there are times when subscription is reasonable. For example, when a software developer his or her monthly income allows him or her to continue to do updates and improvements, which makes sense for the user since they receive ongoing value.
The psychological aspect it that people are surprised when they note how much money they pay each month in subscriptions. In fact, the extra $1-$2 extra for YouTube every month might cause subscribers to wonder if they can get a free version instead.
Subscriptions will always exist but there may the issue of using peaking streaming subscription.
