Foster the People are heading back on the road this fall with a North American run that leans into visual storytelling, utilizing their indie-pop catalog. Dubbed the Good Mourning Sunshine tour, the Live Nation–promoted trek will carry the Los Angeles band across the U.S. and Canada from early September through late October, with support from Goth Babe and The Beaches on select dates.
The tour kicks off September 9 in Phoenix and moves through major cities including New York, Chicago, Toronto, Seattle, Boston and Atlanta before wrapping October 23 at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre. Along the way, the band will also hit iconic venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Forest Hills Stadium, signaling a step up in scale following their recent global run.
This next chapter builds on the momentum of “Paradise State of Mind,” their latest album, which delivered one of the group’s strongest commercial moments to date with a Top 10 placement on Billboard’s Album Sales chart. More importantly, it marked a creative reset, one that fused funk, disco and retro-pop influences into a more expansive identity. That evolution now extends to the stage.
Fresh off a debut of their reimagined live show at Coachella, Foster the People are bringing a concept-driven production on tour. The performance is designed as a visual journey, beginning in a stylized, mid-century utopia before unraveling into a surreal, psychedelic landscape. The result is less a standard concert and more an immersive commentary on modern life, pairing bright melodies with darker thematic undercurrents.
Support acts add further dimension. Goth Babe’s breezy, escapist indie sound contrasts with The Beaches’ high-voltage rock energy, creating a lineup that reflects multiple corners of the alternative spectrum.
Since breaking out with 2011’s “Torches,” anchored by the hit “Pumped Up Kicks,” Foster the People have built a reputation for balancing accessibility with experimentation. With Good Mourning Sunshine, they’re translating their evolution into a live experience.
Presales begin May 5, with general tickets available May 8 at 10 a.m. local time.
