Swiss distribution and technology firm iGroove has officially unveiled Label OS, an AI-native infrastructure designed to automate the heavy administrative burden of running an independent record label. Founded by former artist and software engineer Dennis Hausammann, the platform aims to solve the structural lack of transparency in revenue reporting by using “agentic AI” to handle everything from royalty accounting to deal modeling. By removing what Hausammann calls the “operations tax,” iGroove is betting that a five-person team with the right infrastructure can now outcompete a 50-person organization.
Rebuilding for an AI-Native Future
Unlike companies that layer AI on top of legacy code, iGroove spent two years rebuilding its entire tech stack from scratch. This “Swiss engineering” approach ensures that data pipelines are perfectly structured for AI agents to access and modify without the errors common in older systems. The result is a platform that handles the financial backbone of a label—distribution, splits, contracts, and recoupment—with a level of precision typically reserved for the banking and insurance sectors.
From Dashboards to Agentic Execution
The standout feature of Label OS is its shift away from traditional dashboards. Instead of label owners sifting through spreadsheets, AI agents take over routine tasks:
- Scouting: Agents scan TikTok and social signals to identify breaking tracks.
- Deal Modeling: The system can automatically draft contract offers based on a label’s preferred advance sizes and recoupment rates.
- Talk to Data: A specialized agent visualizes complex financial reports into easy-to-read charts on command.
Solving the Trust Problem
Addressing the industry’s inherent skepticism toward AI, Hausammann emphasizes that Label OS is distribution-agnostic. Labels do not need to move their catalog to iGroove to use the system’s intelligence layers. By automating the “boring” work of accounting and reporting, Hausammann argues that label founders can finally return to the work that builds careers: relationship building, artist development, and cultural presence. As the independent sector grows, iGroove positions Label OS as the essential tool for the next generation of lean, high-impact music companies.
