Los Angeles, California (August 4, 2025)- The Ciudad Juárez-based band 2 Pasos Para la Luna (2PPL) is ready to take flight with their cosmic new single, “Júpiter.” The youthful band, comprised of Emma, Yahel, Lerny, and Erixx, is known for their fresh sound that merges the elegance of jazz, the energy of rock and roll, and the shimmer of synth-pop. Their new track is a testament to this unique blend, offering a cosmic, emotional, and deeply human musical experience.
“Júpiter” is a song born from the desire to escape, to love without limits, and to get lost in a universe where everything is possible. Inspired by the romantic and distant spirit of songs like Kevin Kaarl’s “Vámonos a Marte,” the title track represents a love so pure that no terrestrial obstacle can touch it. Co-written with Vepy and produced by Erixx, the song features floating synthesizers and sweet, orbiting vocals, marking a new sonic direction for the band. It shifts from their pop/rock roots to a new synth-pop sound that is both bright and chaotic, akin to a dance party in an intergalactic disco.
With influences ranging from The Strokes and Enjambre to Daft Punk and urban pop artists like Rauw Alejandro, “Júpiter” is a luminous and intimate journey. The lyrics evoke the tenderness of unconditional love, while the arrangements build enveloping atmospheres. The band, whose name literally came from a dream about a European tour, continues to blend fiction and emotion in their music. While they don’t promise to stay on the same planet, they assure fans they will continue to explore the atmospheric and conceptual, with a new album about life and death already in the works. The single is also accompanied by a fun and energetic music video. As Emma, the band’s vocalist, puts it, “You only need 2 Steps to the Moon,” and with “Júpiter,” it seems they are ready to take the third.
